As mentioned in my first post, I played my first season in Vancouver, the short season low-A farm team of the A's. Our season went from mid June into early September, whereas a full baseball season is from April-September, hence the term short season. My experience in Vancouver was all that I could have asked for and then some. I lived with a host family who made me feel like I was living at home, even being on the opposite coast and in a different country. I played under a great coaching staff who were there to help the players get better, and they did just that. I met some great guys who I still keep in touch with throughout the offseason and who will be lifelong friends. And to top it all off, my parents and sister were able to visit and watch me play. Needless to say, it was a summer I will never forget.

On the field I saw time primarily at second base, but also saw time at shortstop, third base, and believe it or not, on the pitching mound. I will be sure to post a very entertaining story about a game where I played third base. I started the season a little slow with the bat, but with the help of our great coaching staff was able to learn and develop my skills throughout the summer and saw that turn into some success on the field. I have been working hard this offseason to improve my mechanics and skills for next season. This is just a brief overview of my summer, but I will follow with more details into the day-to-day routine during the season and offseason.

Following the draft and up to the current time myself and my family have seen unbelievable support from JMU, the Torrington and Litchfield County community, and many others. I want to thank everyone for the support and I hope that this blog can be a way to stay in contact with all of you and give back in any way that I can.
